As typically (and not always) happens from Earth’s point of view and given planetary retrogradation, Jupiter and Saturn soon engage in the first of three squares from their zodiacal positions. Here are the dates of the partile aspects:
19 August 2024, Jupiter in Gemini direct square Saturn in Pisces retrograde.
24 December 2024, Jupiter in Gemini retrograde square Saturn in Pisces direct.
15 June 2025, Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Aries, both planets direct.
Note: the aspects will be in play for a couple of weeks either side of the exact alignment date.
Why discuss this now with the first of the transits some six weeks away? Well, it’s a heap of work (the square) to manifest (Saturn) the loftiest ideas (Jupiter). The good news: there are fewer astrological aspects that portend greater accomplishment.
It’s worth noting that the third of these squares occurs after both planets shed the mutable sign they transited during the first two quadratures in lieu of placement in cardinal signs. The process involving the first two squares places all far-fetched ideas and opportunistic options on the table. While not quite the “throw it against the wall and see what sticks” approach, this modality places all ideas and concepts, regardless of stage of development, in the pitch to see what grabs the eye of the power brokers with whom one seeks to curry favor. By the time mid June rolls around next year, the focus sets on a primary objective with perhaps two secondary objectives. By the time of the third square, the process of elimination of ideas not to be pursued at this time clarifies ones efforts and focuses the pursuit.
This is not to say ideas not selected are discarded. It’s just that the perception of the time is believed to favor the chosen concepts for advancement. Those other ideas require archiving. One never knows when what they offer might find real world applicability.
It is worth noting that in the final square, Jupiter not only squares Saturn in Aries, but Neptune too. Three days following the exact angle to Saturn, Jupiter precisely squares Neptune. Later, Saturn and Neptune retrograde without achieving conjunction in Aries at this point. Saturn and Neptune retreat into Pisces and finally align on 20 February 2026, with both gaseous planets again in Aries.
Because it includes Neptune, the final Jupiter square with Saturn demands a fantastical review of what has been accomplished. Add to the solidified components of the transit unlimited imagination and the applications of what has been created now migrates into the realm of, “That never crossed my mind. I would have never thought of that without reviewing our current state of progress.” And so it goes. Is it possible that by February of 2026 when Saturn and Neptune join rings in their spin around the Sun that from where we now stand, the unimaginable has been imagined and soon can be accomplished? Yes. That is entirely the implication.
So back to the next weeks working toward the first two of the Jupiter to Saturn angles...
What can be accomplished during a Jupiter to Saturn square? Anything and everything.
Jupiter tracks boundless ideas and offers promise and potential from their pursuit.
Saturn queries if this is just an idea or if Jupiter fully intends to do the work, maintain tracking of progress and is open to ideas outside of boundaries of those presented. Or will Jupiter seek to hand-off the idea for a tidy sum?
This is like when a person approaches a screenwriter and says, “My life would make a fantastic movie! Everything about it has been amazing. I’ll rest on my laurels while you write the script, shop it to the appropriate people and when it gets made, we’ll make millions!” First, of all, shopping a screenplay is a bit of a lottery that requires a grand dose of Jupiterian luck combined with Saturnian skill and experience, and finally must have a fate set of patterns for all parties involved stimulated from the nodes. Second, the opinion one has of their life is subjective and the creative team behind a movie no doubt will add other ideas and fictionalization for dramatic effect. Here the screenwriter replies, “I’ll make this even more fascinating! And for my efforts, I shall be duly and handsomely compensated.”
Saturn in Pisces while sometimes willing to work on spec (for free) or without fair compensation, despises doing so. And Saturn in Pisces even more, despises the wasting of time.
Anyway, in the real world, Jupiter pushes, expands, amplifies and stretches things out as far as they can go. Saturn ensures that Jupiter does not exceed the limits, boundaries or breaking points of any of his enthusiastic pursuits. Truly, the tension of the square offers up perfect balance of expansion and contraction. Going Goldilocks is the way. Not too little. Not too much. Or in terms of the human body, the image is that of the systolic and diastolic functions of the heart. Life thrives when the heart functions nominally.
As Jupiter presents his concepts, Saturn seeks to align the ideas with his sense of what is needed in the most practical terms. Given that Jupiter can take the input to heart and actually make revisions from constructive guidance, likely symbiosis results. It’s painful to revise, edit and conform to the ideas of those in the position of making the prospects manifest. It takes time. And that’s what Saturn is all about. Quality work, culled and refined to near perfection, subsequently production and delivery to a hungry and waiting world.
And something else Saturn does... he asks, “How much will this cost? What’s your budget? (You do have a working budget, right?)? Can any of this be done more economically? Without sacrificing the creative components, of course.”
Here’s another part of the deal. On the first and second squares, the first quadrature more so the case, Jupiter forms oppositions and Saturn squares black holes in Sagittarius. These black holes question ones ethics and beliefs. Let’s say a coder comes up with a new slant on Artificial Intelligence. The coder pitches to a company that realizes agendas far outside the moral considerations of the coder. Perhaps the company intends exploitive methods and evil applications with the coder’s configuration. Would or should the coder sell to this company? What is the line between making boatloads of bucks and living within ones conscience?
Starting now, this Jupiter to Saturn aspect pattern is play and lasts through February 2026 at least. It may take longer than one wants to achieve the nirvana implied by the aspect. Along the way, here’s the process:
Bust ones butt delivering a pitch deck, budget and every other bit of information required by deal makers. Pitch it.
Prepare for revisions. Make the edits and enhancements. Evolve within the suggestions. Refine pitch materials. Pitch again.
Expect another round of suggested changes. Be cheerful. Figure how this actually does make it better. Pitch again.
Then another set of notes. By now it’s feeling like these people will never be happy. Go back through everything. Change the valid points, but more recall the ethics and moral considerations that flagged your sensors early on. Revise within those parameters. Now, simplify focus and remove all aspects not relevant in the moment.
Be firm and clear. Get the deal done. If turned down by one party, flood the known places interested in what you have to offer. Do the Jupiter thing and restore your faith in yourself and your concepts. Do the Saturn thing. Apply negotiation skill, but do not compromise.
With the sign change of Jupiter and Saturn into cardinal signs, the last suggestion above will likely be taken in the spirit intended... as such, ensure all efforts and proposals are founded and grounded within the guidelines of your consciousness.
As the second half of this year commences, it’s time. It’s time to fully capitalize on the recent Jupiter to Uranus conjunction in Taurus. It’s time to align with all the gaseous giants changing signs over the next months. It’s time to set your sights and hang your hopes on aligning with the great intentions inspired by Pluto in Aquarius and do your thing like there’s no tomorrow.
More soon.
